The modern NBA looks a lot different than it did a generation ago. Bigs are more skilled and versatile, wings are longer and more mobile, and shooting has become a prerequisite for nearly every player in the league.

This matters when building a fantasy roster because positions are less important than skill sets. And when it comes to categories like blocks, you don't have to chase mediocre centers or sacrifice roster flexibility just to build a competitive team.

These three wings ranked in the top 10% of the league in total blocks last season while delivering valuable production in other categories.

You can have your cake and eat it too.

## **Jaden McDaniels**

Jaden McDaniels is a high-efficiency, two-way wing who contributes across virtually every category. He's the type of player every team wants, combining blocks and steals with efficient scoring. Last year, he shot a career-best 51.5% from the field and 41.2% from three while maintaining an 83.5% clip from the free-throw line.

On defense, McDaniels recorded 73 total blocks, averaging 1.0 per game and placing him in the 96th percentile.

McDaniels then elevated his game in the playoffs against Denver, averaging 17.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.2 stocks per game while shooting 49% from the field.

Those expanded scoring and rebounding numbers show what he can do with a larger offensive role, one that should continue this season with Naz Reid and Julius Randle gone.

Plus, the LaMelo Ball playmaking bump should benefit McDaniels as much as anyone. Consider the case of rookie Kon Knueppel, whose three-point percentage jumped from 35.7% without Ball in the lineup to 51.5% alongside him in 2025–26\. His true shooting percentage also rose from 59.8% to 70.4%. Easier scoring opportunities and more efficient shots should free McDaniels up to continue wreaking havoc on the defensive end.

Somehow, he's still undervalued.

## **Peyton Watson**

Peyton Watson is another high-upside defensive specialist who provides solid value in category-based fantasy leagues, particularly in blocks and steals. He's coming off the best season of his career, averaging 14.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.1 blocks and 0.9 steals per game. His 61 total blocks placed him in the 93rd percentile.

Now that he's been traded to Cleveland, his offensive touches may remain modest in a stacked lineup. But his combination of defensive stats and dependable minutes gives him a solid fantasy floor with plenty of upside.

Watson could very well become one of the league's top two-way wings soon, and he just turned 24\.

## **Bilal Coulibaly**

While McDaniels and Watson have already established themselves as two-way wings, Bilal Coulibaly is more of a speculative add at this point. He has many of the same tools as a perimeter defender, but his offensive game is still developing.

Coulibaly's defensive upside is tantalizing, though. With a 7'2" wingspan and elite length for his position, he averaged 1.3 steals and nearly 1.0 block per game last season, placing him in the 91st percentile in blocks.

Washington's crowded wing rotation (AJ Dabantsa, KyShawn George, Will Riley, and Tre Johnson) make his situation worth monitoring early in the season. So does his offensive efficiency.

If Coulibaly can knock down corner threes consistently and generate more opportunities in the paint and on the fast break, this might finally be the year the French wing breaks out.

Building the perfect fantasy roster means finding two-way wings with defensive upside. These three won't necessarily replace an elite shot-blocking center, but they can reduce the pressure to draft one early or help compensate if your roster is light on blocks.
